White/Lichens is the ongoing collaboration of Chicago-based Lichens and White/Light.
Lichens is the solo project of Robert A.A. Lowe, bass player/singer in 90 Day Men and Singer. Under the Lichens project name, Robert has recorded and released a fistful of cds plus two albums, The Psychic Nature of Human Being (2005) and Omns (2007) both released on Kranky.
White/Light is a duo composed of Jeremy Lemos and Matt Clark who have already released two albums, White/Light (2005) on Rebis and Black Acts (2008) on Smell Like Records. Beside playing music, Jeremy works as a sound engineer in studio or do live sound for bands like Smog, Sonic Youth, JIm O'Rourke, Afrirampo, and many more.
Since drone (Lichens) + drone (White/Light) equals drone, White/Lichens brightly mixes heavy guitars and spiritual ambiance. The result is loud and mystical, impressive and fascinating as a hurricane.
